Refund and Cancellation Policy for Something

Version 1.1 · Last updated 31 October 2026 ·

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It has three parts: cancelling, refunds for everyone, and the legal right of withdrawal that consumers have.

1. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time:

  • from your account (in the app: Settings › Account & Billing › Manage Billing), or
  • by emailing support@changesomething.app from the account’s email address.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Paid features keep working until the end of the period you have paid for. Then the app falls back to the Free plan. Nothing on your Mac is deleted or locked.

The 14-day Team trial ends by itself. There is nothing to cancel and no card is taken.

2. Refunds

These rules apply to every customer. Consumers also have the statutory rights in section 3.

Monthly plans. No refund for a month that has started. Cancel, and the plan ends at the end of the month.

Yearly plans. If you ask within 14 days of a yearly payment, we refund that payment in full. This applies to the first payment and to each renewal; we email you at least 30 days before a yearly plan renews. After the 14 days there is no refund, and the plan runs to the end of the paid year.

Seats. Adding a seat in the middle of a period is charged for the days that are left. Removing one is credited for the days that are left, as a credit on your next invoice, not as a payment back to your card.

Our fault. If we end your contract without you being in breach, or remove a feature central to your plan during a paid period, we refund the unused part of the period.

Duplicate charges and mistakes. Always refunded. Email us.

3. Consumers: your 14-day right of withdrawal

If you buy Something as a private person, for purposes mainly outside your trade or profession, you are a consumer. Norwegian law then gives you a right of withdrawal (angrerett) under angrerettloven. Consumers in other EEA countries have the same right under their national law.

The right. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days from the day the contract was made, without giving a reason (angrerettloven § 21). Tell us before the 14 days end: email support@changesomething.app, or use the withdrawal form at the end of this page. We confirm receipt by email.

What you get back. We refund what you paid, to the same payment method, without undue delay and at the latest 14 days after we receive your notice (§ 24).

If you started at once. We treat a Something subscription as a service. When you buy, you can ask to start using the paid features straight away instead of waiting 14 days. You keep your right of withdrawal if you do. If you then withdraw, we charge for the days you used and refund the rest (§ 26). Example: on a monthly plan of $19, withdrawing after 7 days means we keep about $4.43 and refund the rest. On a yearly plan, section 2 already gives you a full refund within 14 days of the payment, and that applies to you as well, so you get everything back.

We do not ask you to give up your right of withdrawal at checkout.

After the 14 days. You can still cancel at any time (section 1). The rules in section 2 apply.

If something is wrong. Your rights when the Service does not work as agreed come from digitalytelsesloven and are not limited by this policy: repair, price reduction, termination and damages as the law provides.

Disputes. You can ask Forbrukertilsynet for mediation at https://www.forbrukertilsynet.no/send-sak-til-mekling. You can also bring a case in the courts of the country where you live.

4. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through Stripe. Banks usually show them within 5 to 10 business days. We cannot refund to a different card or account.

5. Withdrawal form (consumers)
